God tur,
Jacob

Bodufolhudhoo
The island has several advanages; a great house reef with plenty of fish very close to the beach, a peaceful and clean bikini beach (though small), a quiet vibe, friendly people and a new playground with plenty of kids speaking som eEnglish and looking for new friends to play with. It´s also pretty easy to get to from the airport. And last, but not least, it was sooo much cleaner than Rashdoo, the locals are keeping it tidy, simply taking better care of everything, it seems. The backside is just one real restaurant with ok prices and good, non-fancy food, and just a few small shops for basic needs.

Holiday Village Retreat:

Best:
Beautiful and peaceful garden
Staff - attentive but not in your face
Highly organized
The island, the best of the ones we visited

Not so great:
Room was too much a guest house room with added 4-star elements
Noisy aircon
To expensive

Rasdhoo/Rasdu
It seems like there is a small, but on-going tourist scam going on in Rashdoo/Rashu Island, and the Rasdhoo Holiday Home took part in this. It´s quite simply like this; You will be picked up at the harbour, and placed in a hotel where there is room, not neccesarily where you have booked. Since we didn´t got the adress beforehand, and they never showed pictures of the room at the booking site, we didn´t wonder that we were lead somewhere else, and were told that "this is the new building", which was obviously not true. We later realized, that most of the people in our hotel had originally booked something else, and was placed here with a little white lie. When asked, the local management at our hotel (Acqua Blu) told that the hotels had nothing to do with each other, but were just "cooperating". It also meant that it was quite difficult to find out what anything costed, since the local hotel management didn´t always know what to charge us, because we were still officially booked by the other hotel ;/. If this is an act of arrogant visitor handling or a part of a culture where it´s not easy to say "no, we are full, pls contact this other hotel" I don´t know, maybe a combination, but the fact remains, that if you book here, you can´t trust to actually stay here. That said, we got a quite nice and very new room at the other hotel, but the new place was otherwise not excactly what we were looking for. While Rashdoo has some advantages due to a larger number of visitors (e.g more restaurants and scuba joints) and a large bikini beach, I´m happy we tried other islands as well, where the bikini beach would actually be a peaceful place (unlike Rashdoo with a roaring power plant round the corner), and we could see that some islands keep their places clean (unlike Rashdoo, where we frankly were quite appaled by the locals throwing garbage everywhere, incl. directly in the sea).
